I have posted this after a request from Crusader and Westfront. Although it's a find from a few weeks ago it's just come to light after being recovered from the scrap bucket after a heavy down poor revealed it. The find is a very rare 1stC Roman Millefiori Mount or Stud. (probably a harness mount).. None recorded on the UKFD (except this one) Millefiori - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Although brooches of this design have. It still amazes me the some of the craftsmanship from ancient times.
My partner and I just don't know which one of us found this as we both placed items into the bucket after recent hunts This is not the first time I have over looked a good find, must stop doing that In 2006 a similar stud was blocked from being sold abroad until the required money was raised to keep it in the UK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millefioriefiori
