Farm May Be Older Than Originally Thought: Part 4

Back to the old farm over the weekend. As of today, I've pulled 8 coppers from this property. Two British and 6 U.S. Large Cents. The ground sure hasn't been kind to these coins. BTW, prior to December 24, 2025, I had only ever found 1 U.S. Large Cent in my 5-year career. I used the Deus 2 "Sniper" program today just to try something new. Dug more iron today than I have been digging with the Manticore. In defense of the Deus 2, I'm not using the filters that could keep me from digging more iron as I'm not using the stabilizer on the Manticore either. I found a trick for the Manticore during pinpointing that seems to work well. If the vdi shows red at all during pinpointing, the target is iron. I spent a day digging all targets at a park earlier in December and the trick proved pretty accurate.

The two coins from yesterday as they came out of the hole.

I've done my best to get dates from these four. Only 1 found today has a visible date, although it didn't come out well in the photos.

When I pulled this button from the hole, I thought it was another lead/pewter. Once I cleaned it up it was very green. My wife and I thought we noticed a crown with two pillars on either side. I soaked it in lemon juice which just made whatever the image is worse. Let me know if you can see anything.

This little bugger was deep. I chased it around the hole for about 20 minutes. I apparently hit it with my shovel.

This is the second button with a hole through it I've found at this location. It's got the arrows around the back. I've seen those before, but I can't remember where.

I continue finding these good targets at the outer edge of 60 yards from the cellar hole to the northwest. As I get closer to the hole, the number of targets becomes less and less. Iron targets in the area of the hole are fairly large chunks of sheet metal. Roofing materials maybe.

Clearly an old site, from late 1700s to early 1800s it looks like from the coins and relics. The button you have asked for help with looks like cast pewter. They typically are older than copper ones, perhaps early 1700s although they may have been home cast later.
That's a site I would really enjoy detecting and I know you are too. It's worth quite a few more expeditions, I think.

I agree, there will be many years' worth of expeditions. We've barely scratched the surface of the 70 acres.

Thanks, I thought the button was pewter, the green patina threw me off. The image my wife and I think we noticed is similar to the center of this.
