Favorite MD Vehicle?

1970 Kaiser Jeep DJ-5

My favorite detectin' vehicle was a 1970 Kaiser DJ-5 postal jeep that I had out in Arizona when I was instructing at Ft Huachuca. The start position on the ignition switch didn't work, so there was a pushbutton taped to the steering column. The alternator didn't get it's initial spike to start charging (because of the ignition switch) so I had to jump the voltage regulator off the resistor with a wire that was wrapped around the a reinforcement rod that ran from the firewall to the grille. The fuel gauge didn't work, so I ran it around until it the tank went dry, dumped 5 gallons of gas into it out of a jerry can strapped to the back, then went to the gas station to top off the tank and refill the jerry can. The wipers didn't work, the heater core was bypassed, and the steering wheel was on the wrong side. But in Arizone it could go just about anywhere and I'd like to find another one just like it.

My little Scion XB. Its like driving a sheet of plywood when it gets windy. It gets great gas mileage, and i can stand up in it to take my son out of his car seat. NOW what i really want is my old '76 lowered 2WD blazer that had loud dual exhaust, carb troubles, the ever present exhaust fumes seeping through the rear window. She rode sloppy and guzzled gas. Had to give her up, I was 8 months pregnant and needed to find a more 'mom' type car. I didn't think that those fumes would be too good for the little guy!
So the truck got sold, and i got an old Volvo.
then i got a Jeep (cherokee)
now ive got my new love, my little Scion box-wagon.

God, I want my truck back!

my 1964 comet wagon or my 1964 comet caliente, I drive old cars as well as an old RV a 1975 American Clipper, and I can tow my comet behind it

That 75 RV looks to be in great shape as does the car. Don't blame you, I like
the older cars myself. I still have my second car a 1968 Firebird convertible.
I like the old station wagons like yours, if someone asks , just tell 3 more
payments & she's all mine. I use a S-10 4WD Blazer , 2 door to MD in, short wheel base lets it get around pretty good , lots of hills around here.

I would love to get a nice Wrangler with a lift kit for md'ing.

here's mine 96 X 90

Depends on what i have in mind and where i am going....so i have a bunch of purpose built k5's.
If its over night likely...out comes the 76 K5 Chalet...
if its a way back in there rabbit only trail...out comes the 79....purpose built with all the right parts.
And anyone of them is always ready to through on the trailer to head off to parts unknown behind
the duramax.

Mine would be a 3/4 ton pickup, white with tool boxes in back, tinted windows, ladder rack with pipes on it, a yellow light on top, and CITY WATER DEPT. signs on both doors. Haven't found one yet though, darn.

I have a 95 jeep wrangler with 31 inch tires and a 3.5 lift. No good on fuel but fun off road.
