It felt really good to get out and do some detecting yesterday. I haven't barely touched my detector since this past spring. Work sure does have a way of keeping us from having fun. I went back to an old home site that has the potential of producing some civil war era coinage, I just haven't been able to come up with any yet. I did happen to get this token of sorts. It's aluminum, so it's not as old as I would like it to be. It reads Victor Peterson, Donaldson Ind. Donaldson is small town about 5 miles southwest of my place, and I found this thing about 5 miles north east of my place. I'm not sure what it is, and I'm working on finding out who Victor Peterson was.

Congrats on your good luck piece rescue and best of luck on your research. Just keep swinging that coil any chance you get and I'm sure you will be finding more keepers. SD
