Got back out today for some winter digging. Had a nice 16-18 tone on the Equinox 600. Dug a cast iron kettle out of the ground! First one of these. And it’s not cracked. Il take it 🤘Anyone have an idea for a time period? Was dug out of a bean field in the middle of literally nowhere.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice save. Congrats and GL out there.

Looks like a lead melting pot. Did you find any stray pieces of lead? Gary

Looks like a relatively small size. Cast iron (bean) pots like this were made over several hundred years. Some are still being made for campers. We'd be able to tell better once its cleaned up some. Nice find. I only generally find these in antique stores.

Nice find. I've seen where those cracks have been repaired if you decided to. I got parts of one but never dug a complete pot.Congratulations
