I'm just about finished with my first nickel box of the weekend and I thought I had a great box till I read this post. I guess mine is just very good then.

Good luck and I hope you'll post your total finds for the box if you find any more keepers which I imagine you will - and make sure to ckeck for mint marks on those buffaloes if you haven't already.

I remember back in July I bought $40 in nic's from my bank and I was finding a buffalo nickel in about every other roll. I think I ended up with 10 buffaloes and a couple of silver from those rolls and I think one roll even had 2 buff and 1 silver. I believe they were nearly all full date with one partial date 1920 and a partial date 1918. Sure wish I had bought more that day.

Anyway congrats again and make sure to check for mint marks - some of those must have mint marks - maybe even some of the earlier dates too. If your not sure where the mint mark is it's just above the rim and below the mound at the 6 o'clock area on reverse. Sometimes it can be hard to see if the coin is really worn.

I've got the No Date Nickels soaking in vinegar right now, so hopefully I'll have dates for those later this week. Once I do I'll make sure to post. Happy Hunting.

ND buffalo nickels are considered "worthless" meaning no collector value. Though if you recover the date off of certain date buffalo nickels(1913, 1914d, 1921s, etc, they can be worth something.

I use Nic-A-Date, though it damages part of the coin by leaving a blemish, it makes the date appear in less than 20 seconds. if you don't care about your ND buffaloes, nic-a-date works awesome and is only around $8, which will literally outlast you. I have Nic-a-dated over 300 buff nickels, and the bottle is still 90-95% full. hh
