FINALLY! First LC!!

Scored a new permission yesterday. Weather was too nice not to hunt.
First ever large cent for me. crusty and toasted, likely will not be able to read a date but still super exciting! You guys in the Eastern US make finding LCs look easy.....

Great find. Nuthin' like your 1st LC.
And don't feel bad. My first one was WAY worse than yours. At least you can read yours.

Did a little cleaning on the LC this evening when I noticed a line under 'cent'. (Braided hair variety doesn't have this) What details I can see on the obverse, doesn't look like a matron head. Looking in my red book, I'm pretty sure this is a modified matron from 1835-1839. New oldest coin!
