Today was the first time that I have picked up the Minelab in weeks. Busy getting firewood ready. etc. Everything is like a jungle around here too.
I decided to do a scouting mission at a spot that I just got permission to hunt. Very early place for my area. My research tells me that this was one of the earliest settled spots in my town.

I was going to just hit the easy spots and do a quick cherry pick to see what might be around. My second decent signal was reading as a repeating 40 on my 705. Hoping for maybe a copper I was surprised to see a colonial shoe buckle sitting in the dirt! This is my first shoe buckle and something that has been near the top of my wish list for a while now. She is a little bent but thats OK with me!

I dont really expect to find too much until spring time. This place has grass and weeds as tall as me. I can feel more good things to come ;D

Now thats' one very nice buckle frame VPR :o . dug one of those pewter / lead cookies as well last Mon. :icon_scratch: I am wondering what to do with it :dontknow: I have dug them before and it turns out some were used as trade tokens in the 18 th cent. , one even has a square nail hole through the center for what ever reason . Let us know how you do with the ID 8) 8) looks good !! You are at least in an old ,old jungle . :icon_thumleft: see ya , CMD

Thank You for all of the replies!

My research has given the names of the original settlers of this spot. The family fought in the Revolutionary war among others. I hope that there will be some real good finds here!

Thanks again, VPR
