Well here's the story. This site I have hunted to death with my etrac and it quit producing. Coins this site has produced include a couple seated, 3 Spanish silver, 2 largies, a half cent, and a plethora of relics over the past two years. Find of the day is this iron key. I would tell more story if the app worked properly and I could see what I was typing .

So back to the story. There is so much big iron scattered around that I modified my program to get the big iron as I have found removing it has cleared the area and allows access to targets close by. Ended up with a v nickel, this iron key, and a 1903 barber dime that got ran over on gravel. The barber had a big bolt next to it, so my program worked out. Anyone detecting in central Kentucky is welcome to detect this site with me in exchange for hating honeysuckle and euonymus. HH everyone. Yay the phone app lets me scroll down to type in a reply but not a new post.

Sounds like your learning that good sites means clear it all, I clear nails as well.

Nice Key there Beercanman, like Crusader said it pays to clear the iron as well. I have a site that I have hammered and now most all I get is iron signals so now I am starting to clear the iron as well and found a nice 19th cent. double bladed axe head.:icon_thumright:
ZDD

Exactly, it's not like I start every site & clear every signal. It takes years of what I call 'filtering'. Towards the end of filtering I'm just picking up tiny blobs of lead & tiny nails.

Any idea on what this key would be for? A door?I'm thinking it is late 1700s?

Reminds me of a heavy Church Door Key, any near by? I think 19th C
