I found these items last week a day before I went away to ski Utah. These were found in a wooded area on a ridge above a creek. The dirt was black and porous and the items were 2 to 3 inches deep. It's funny how the Indian Head and the V nickel came out the same dark color. I soaked them in olive oil and Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion to get some of the encrusted dirt off of them. Then I applied some MS 70 Coin Brightener to the IH and the V nickel. The IH came out pretty nice, but I think I went too far with the V nickel.

Here's the 1901 Indian Head:

The 1902 V Nickel:

Also found a 1942 Washington, which didn't need any cleaning. Just rinsed it off.

A 1939 Jefferson in really bad shape:

Hey Bob,
Nice coin finds!

I think I found the identical slide last fall!
If so it is from the '40s. I will post mine, it shows how the back is fastened on in the 40s version.

Good Luck,
Mark
