This years gridding of this site only took 3 days (6 man days). The conditions were perfect & the lovely dry soil was a refreshing change.
We knew the site was coming to an end as our scrappies per hour after 5 hours were; 6,5,4,3, & 2.
As normal for many Roman Sites the Fibula seem to be on the edges.

Roman Pot Shards
20 Roman Coins (3 OK)
2 bits of Roman Fibula
1 late 1st C BC - early 1st C AD Langton Down Brooch
Late 1st C AD - Early 2nd C AD Headstud Brooch with some white enamel diamonds.

We are now waiting for the late drilling, as we are out of options...

These coins to me are simply awesome! The kind of stuff you see in museums and such. Congrats on all you have accomplished with your detecting and research.

Good result for one of the last days digging! I wish a had a day like this before season comes to an end.
The enameled fibula was a beaut! Too bad these come always broken out of the fields. :occasion14:
