As the beaches have stopped giving I decided to concentrate on my Deus and detect some dirt.
It was rainy today and I came close to giving up. Started some research but the rain let up and I needed to check for my lost car keys at the Seal Beach Pier. The Deus went into the trunk. Checked the Lost and Found ... keys still lost.
I had a small landscaping strip next to a fence to check out. I was there 2 years ago with the Fisher F-4 and I did pull out a few goodies...an early 1900's foreign coin and some modern coins.
First pass through got me some modern coins and I wound up at the beginning of the beach. On the way back I checked again. A nice quarter signal...and under the leaves I could see what could only be a small, 3" deep grooved area. I'm sure that must have been my last attempt 2 years ago and I gave up since the hard pack was too hard to penetrate Today I had a small garden pick and went down another 3" to see a gray disc. Picking it up I could see the characteristic eagle from the Barber coins!
My first Barber...my 2nd break into the 1800's.... I have arrived! (Love my Deus)
The photos are as found.
