First Commemerative

Well i recieved my 5 boxes of halves yesterday, I was able to go through 1 1/2 boxes and i found 3 40%ers and 1 1964. But my favorite is this new coin i found that i had no idea what it was. It is a 1995 baseball commemerative olympic half dollar coin. i looked it up this morning but do any of you know what the value of something like this is worth? oh my other question is i mainly rim search but i am second guessing that now since this coin is not silver i found it because it was just a bit wider and newer looking i thought it was a proof. But any ways my question is are all commemeratives clad or are some silver?

They can be just about anything. Pretty much anything that will fit in a coin roll has been stuffed in there by somebody. There are quite a few silver commemorative coins, but there's no reason you wouldn't find a coin made out of niobium.

i think most commeratives are silver.

As a rule of thumb, modern commemorative halves are clad and the classic commemorative halves are silver (90%). Not always though. For example, the 82 Washington half was the first 90% silver coin since 1964. Also, there is a 1993W Bill of Rights half that is 90% silver.

As mentioned, some of the modern commemoratives are clad and some are silver. Get a Red Book. It has a pretty good section on commemoratives.

Nice. I found the exact same thing a few months back. I ended up with rolled dumps from the SecureTrans pallet this week. Might try dimes before I have to head off for my summer geology class.
