Was going to try to meet up with Daydream and Moe(fl) at the beach today, but man was it nasty. Even at low tide, the waves were churning up and coming more than half way up the beach. The wind was howling and driving the rain in your face like needles. Thought this crap was going to be gone by now.
This is a picture of the surf a little North of Flagler Beach, called Beverly Beach.

Since my lovely bride was with me, we decided to go check out a beach further north that we usually go to as a family. I have never found much of value there, because it is not a very busy beach. It is behind a large resort, so I always figured if I did find some jewelry, it would probably be of better quality.
The erosion on the beach is not the type I had hoped for. It generally took the sand down from the towel line and spread it around at the tide line area. I like MDing the tide line, so that sucks. The beach is so soft there, that I was sinking just trying to walk on it. I figured that all the sand taken from the towel line would uncover some old targets.
I got a HUGE signal, with many more and dug up this wonderful find.

Moving back and forth where just below where the wind was re-depositing sand, I came away with the following haul:

Can you guess which is my favorite find of the above?
I broke two previous rules that I had. 1) I found gold in the first hour and 2) I found nice gold at the towel line.
The ring is 18k and looks to have two diamonds mounted around a large stone that looks like topaz or aqua marine according to my bride. I sure hope this is only the beginning of a great weekend!
