Hello All,

I recently starting detecting about 2 weeks ago, and I recieved some awesome help from Captain SE and Dan. Along with the silver pictured, I have found 1 Indian Head, 17 Wheats, 2 silver rings, several old bullets and tons of clad.

The coin in the top left is an 1883(I am almost sure 1883) V nickel. I want to clean it up. I don't really care about value(I don't they are worth much anyway). I just want to see the features better. Is there something that can be done? I do understand that you don't want to clean better coins.

Anyone in the Cincinnati area that wants to detect, can contact me. I am looking for hunting buddies.

Regards,
Jon Dickinson

Captn, I tried cleaning a very dark, pitted, dateless Buffalo nickel I found using your recipe and I must say it worked great..I can see lines and detail I couldn't see before.

I too have used this method recently, and I have found that it works really great on the melt silver I find. I wouldn't use it on any coin of numinastic value though. It did clean my stash super nice though. Turns cents orangish though.

Congrats on such a great two weeks!
