Detector(s) used
Tesoro Tiger Shark
Hit a beach I havent been to before, Ben T Davis Beach which is 10 mins from downtown Tampa.
Seems like it has been hit hard as I only found 9 cents in clad after 3 1/2 hours of hunting.
BUT.. found my very first gold! small earring marked M14K. ;D

Had alot of "rocks" I dug up that were setting my detector off..after tossing several I broke the edge off of one and got a little present inside and kept the rest I found...

I'll let everyone take a wild guess what was in the rock pictured and show what it was later :)

cheers,

A key is only half the answer. Hmmmm, a key HOLE????? Nope, that's not it. Hmmm, a key chain????? Nope, that's too much like a key ring. Hmmm, a key date coin??? Nah, I give up. Why are these keys inside rocks?

Congrats!!!!

The answer was in the clue and at everyones fingertips. :) (keyboard)
CAPS lock, NUM lock, and of course your car and house hopefully has a lock on em. :)

Why the tampa bay beach waters turned this into a rock and how it got there are a mystery. One other rock had a very rusty hasp/clip in it..two others had "rust dust" whatever it was rusted away ages ago.. and the last rock is like a quartz with a metallic mineral in it. Finally I can give away some bottle caps! :)

cheers

It would seem that not only is there a mystery as to why there are rocks forming around the keys/locks, but also why there are so many keys AND locks found there. What's the scoop on all the locks WITH keys, anyhow???

hmmm.. maybe I missed something.. what other locks and keys? ???

I assume this lock (with keys) had a small metal ring keeping them together but rusted away.
