Detector(s) used
White's Classic SLII and the E series DFX and the Minelab ExplorerII
MM detected circles around me today at the SLQ place. You should see him go! He's quick! Plus he found wilver! Anyhow. Just for fun, we decided to dig the dirt out from an iron infested spot by the back steps.(with a full size shovel).

I kept shoveling dirt out, while MM ran his coil over it. I've never found a marble until today. This was a blast! The dirt was full of all kinds of stuff (including wheat pennies, tiny bottles, doll parts, ect...).but the marbles were easy to spot.

Now I have a marble collection. MM let me have the ring from that dirt too. I guess he felt sorry for me. :D

Sometimes I wish there was a marble detector!

Great unexpected finds..My guess some small children gathered around there or under there to play..lol Where I grew up our back steps (before remodled) you could crawl under there and the front porch for that matter and play. Thanks to someone about the ID of that baby bottle ,I have found tons.. 10 bucks times a ton,lol cha ching!@! JK .. I thought it was medicine bottle.. just about every backyard I detected I found some marbles ,whether it be clay(different sizes and colors) or glass.. obviously was a popular pastime.. its really cool to have a child out with you ,especially when they enjoy doing it. Today they spend way to much time inside .. good going!

Thanks for the info on the baby bottle!

I'm going to build a small portable sifter for spots like that. Now I have marble feva! :D

Congratulations that is one real cool looking ring. Nice to see you get some marbles as well. Love the marbles myself, my daughter collects them. So anytime I find a marble it is a bonus, whether it's of any value or not.

Hello, great finds, marbles are cool, they can be just as valuable as coins, they allready are more colorful, heck bottles are great finds also same story, looks like you got a interesting site there, good luck to you

Neat bunch of relics! Marbles and little baby bottle are extra special. Looks like a fun time.

Thanks for the sites TeddyB1967, I will go over them and see what I can learn about this fascinating game of marbles.

God bless

I collect old marbles. The red and white one on the upper left is an Akro Agate corkscrew made 1920 until 1940, the green one is a Christensen (1920-1940) I believe this color was called a parrot, this one is highly collectable if it is in good shape. Both are good examples of American machine mades from the early half of the 20th century. The rest of the marbles are Japanese cats eyes. These flooded the US market in the 1950s, and essentially killed the US manufactures due to the low price and popularity. Nice finds.
