Nice to see metal arrowheads for a change! :laughing7:
Getting tired of seeing all of those ancient ones that Creekwalker keeps finding! :laughing9:

Great bunch of finds....and a metal arrowhead. I have only found one in Korea...an iron one. It was complete when I
pulled it out of the ground.....wrapped it in tissue, put it in my pocket, took it out when I got home.....the tip had broken off.
Did not continue to disintegrate, but I cried. What do you think yours is made of? Looks a little more substantial than mine.
Good luck hunting in 2011.

Thanks. The vdi on my machine said 28 which is the same as an Indian head penny. like a low grade copper or tin. but it was a solid hit. It's very thin, even thinner than a US dime. All of them had a greenish patina. this one does too, but the bright sunlight made it look white. We found several pieces of this material that wasn't points, i think they used whatever was available to them from traders. As for transporting I carry a medicine bottle with cotton for my delicate finds.

Some were trade points from trading with the Europeans for goods the Indians made. They also had copper mines also they would mine copper from and make points. Very interesting finds.....I have always wanted to find one. Way to go!!!! Tim

If it were a European Trade Point it would be more regular in shape. This is a locally made piece from scrap metal - IMO.
I think u are spot on. we found handfuls of the scrap metal that these points were cut from.
