First metal detector attempt.

Had the tracker 4 set up for all metal found only this and pull tabs in an hour, I thought I was going to get beginners luck. Guess not. Very fun tho.

That’s a great start! Coins of any type are rare as chickens teeth out here in rural IL.

You have to start somewhere to begin learning and finding a coin is a good start, now that you got your 2 cents in you just need to find places to hunt...but never give up, the next time out could be the treasure day for you.

This is a "hang in there type hobby" - the learning curve can be very frustrating but it's also a lot of fun.
I remember the first coin I ever found - a half rotted Zinc Penny.
But I also remember thinking ... hey these things really work !
You have a lot of first to look forward to - your first Wheat Cent, Silver Coin, 1800's Coin, piece of Gold, etc.

Yes I’m hooked, does the tracker 4 do any salt water wetness at all or do I have to be in the dry, II know it can’t be too wet but can’t it handle the in between areas?(damp)? I was lucky to get this one for 40$ on offer it up. and they say this is the best cheap one.

Why did you start in all metal mode? There's lots of iron in the world, discriminate it and maybe that'll help you.

It probably won't do very well in wet beach sand because of the salt content will overload it.

I think someone else posted the owner's manual for you in another topic but just in case here's a link to it, download/save it and read it over and over until you learn your detector.
