Quick hunt at the Elders Camp today slate and basalt dart points and some broken bits.

Basalt points? Those look like they were incredibly difficult to work. You must be in a flint/obsidian poor area.

We find a large variety of lithics including Obsidian and Rock Crystal. A lot of the older points are basalt - Shale - Slate and cherts.

Break between storms it was 50 degrees and sunny with no wind perfect day. Laying on top is how all my finds from that camp have always been.

Well no surprise but the weather was way off. I should have walked the creek. Glad you have started the year off. Maybe next week I can get out
