I was wading and almost missed this because it blended in so good, the shape of the tip made me do a double take lol! First point I have found made of quartzite. I'll take it!!!

Great Find!

There sure is a lot of decomposed granite in that stream. Could be some fine gold mixed in with it?

Not familiar with your neck of the woods, but it sure has me feeling paleoish. Around here, Cowhouse Slough would come to mind. Great find, whatever it is. Took a pro to knap quartzite that thin.

You know, I'm wondering if that it is a preform with the notching and edge work yet to be done.
I have found plainview and eden here, so I'm pretty sure this is a finished point. I can see the bottom edge was knapped and edges are ground.

I agree with you that it's a finished product. My first thought, like Mr. Sandchip, was Paleo. My favorite era. Have you shown some of your other finds? Enjoyed your post.

0729192101.jpg This is what I have found in this particular area. I'll admit, I don't know if any of these are paleo, but, I'm pretty sure most of these are finished pieces. I'm always still learning! There are some really experienced guys on treasurenet, I'll let them decide☺

You gotta love the flaking on an Eden. Is that the only Cody piece you have? I'd be tempted to have the tip restored on that one.

Nice spot on seeing that one. It's hot to fish. I hunted a field the other evening and just found flakes and busted cores. You did well!
