Hi Everyone!

I have been following this forum for a while and decided to register today. This is my first post and good deed for the day!

As I walked through the underground parking of a townhouse site where I work, I noticed a black square on the cement and thought it was garbage. I picked it up and realized it was a money wallet. There was $180 inside! There was a name inside that I recognized, the wallet belonged to an elderly tenant whose wife had recently passed away.

I gave the tenant a call, went up to his suite and asked him if he lost anything. He said, "No." I showed him the wallet and asked if he recognized it. He said that it was his and that he did not even know that he lost it. He had gone to the bank earlier in the day, walked through the underground parking area, and did not know that the wallet fell out of his pocket. He was really happy, said thanks, and shook my hand.

I started metal detecting 2 years ago and this is my first big find without a detector! I really enjoy reading everyone's posts on this forum!

Good for you.

I found a woman's wallet in the parking lot at a small mall about 25 years ago. Had over $500 in cash plus a bunch of CCards. Went store-to store having her paged, and finally she came up and identified herself to the manager and we gave her the wallet.

Naturally, she never even said thank you, just gave my wife and I a dirty look like we had stolen her wallet. Nice. At the time the car I was driving had cost me less than that much cash. Oh well. The right thing is always the right thing to do.

Those are the kind of stories i like to hear ;D

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for the warm welcome and nice comments! I have been "lurking" around the other forums and found this one to be the BEST which is the reason why I decided to join.

I did my good deed yesterday, however, I had to repair someone's bad deed today. It was a long 10 hr., stressfull day at work which began this morning with a call from the property manager. The office at one of the other sites had been broken into! When I arrived at the townhouse complex the police were taking fingerprints. Several locks were damaged, the computer and a few keys were stolen.

I had to replace quite few locks, run back and forth to pick up supplies, and hand out new keys. I got home about 10 PM after I stopped for a bite to eat and was really tired and stressed.

When I read all of your posts I felt much, much better! Thank you again my treasure hunting friends, all of you also did your good deed for the day! : )

I will post some of my finds when I have a chance to take photos of them. By the way... am I still considered a "tenderfoot" after making my second post and doing a good deed? Treasure Tom the "Tenderfoot" sounds kind-o-funny.

Well found and returned Tom
I have had the pleasure of finding a few wallets. The pleasure being, investigating the contents and tracking down the owner.
I found one on a local beach once on arriving back from a fishing trip. It had some nice cash in it and as I was a bit strapped at the time, I spent it. Problem was, I succeeded in finding the owner.
I replaced the same amount of money before handing the wallet back.
Guilt Free - apart from the crispness of the new notes :o
Cheers, Mike
