So my father got me a permission in a small town across the river. It's a small house with a little shop that is owned by a man that lives in another state. Nobody lives on the property and my father keeps a eye on it for him. You could not ask for more perfect wheather than what we are having in this month of February. So I made plans to get over there for a couple hours before the rain came in. When I pulled up to the house and see how small the yard was I really didn't think there would be much to be found.

I got geared up to get busy. Right on que I start finding my pennies. Then a dime here and there. Of course you got to find the trash. I did get a nice steady 91 back and fourth. Turned out to be a small piece of metal pipe. One of these days I'll find another half dollar. I'm working the little space between the house and the shop when I get a scratchy 80-81 four inches down. When I popped the plug out of the hole there was a dirt ball with a little shine on the side of it. Picked it up and pulled it apart and seen it was a ring. I've found a couple junk rings last year but this one looked like it was going to be something. I worked the yard a little bit more when it started sprinkling and I decided to call it a day. So the take for the day is a cpl buttons, nine memorials, two wheats a 1940 and 1950, four dimes, three zincs and one sweet ring. It took me a bit but I've learned a couple things since starting this hobby. There will be times when you don't find things at a place where you thought you should have. Then there will be times when you do find good things when you didn't think you would have at all. Keep the coil to the soil and GL & HH.

Looks like that Mason jar lid would have been glass lined. Shame those old lids don't survive decades in the wild.

Nice silver and congratulations on rescuing it.
