Still shaking from this one. A few weeks ago, I dug a beautiful 1877cc seated dime. Unfortunately for me, my pinpointing on this particular target was way off, and I ended up putting a deep scratch into the reverse of what would otherwise have been a stunning coin.

I was nonetheless stoked to have found my first seated coin in 2 years.

Fast forward to today. I'm out digging, about a quarter mile or so from where I found the dime, and this pops up!!

Totally unexpected find!! I'm glad to finally cross another coin off my "to find" list, but still stunned at finding TWO SEATEDS in less than a month, and less than a half mile apart.

Civil war era coinage is getting very scarce in my area, and even more so on public property!!

This one has a few light scratches across the obverse (apparently my lesche is still errant >.< ), and a very small rim ding on the reverse, but it's otherwise in stunning condition.

Pics are below. Enjoy!! Now to find a two center!! :laughing9:

Boy that would have bought a lot of groceries back then! That was one sad person that lost that coin! Nice find

Sweet coin. The only seated quarter I have found had very little detail and was black. I still treasure it!

Beautiful! I have yet to find a Barber coin-- at least one that hadn't been planted for a club dig. Your seated is gorgeous!

That's a beauty!!
