Metal Detecting
Hi! I've had a detector for about six weeks and have been having a great time, and found hundreds of coins. But no silver until today! And in an unlikely place, a shortcut three blocks from my apartment. Never expected one there!

It's a 1963-D dime.

Also there and I found my oldest coin yet, this 1918 penny!!! Yesterday I found a 1920-S but that record didn't last long! Haven't done all of that site yet so wish me more sweet finds :D

Woohoo!

Way to go on your first Silver, :hello2: keep at it and make sure you keep that dime safe and have it to always look back on as your first silver.

Thanks! I'll definitely keep it safe.

So much of the fun of detecting is that you never know what that next beep will bring up! :D

Hey good job on the finds  what kind of detector was used?

Keep at it :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: only way to find stuff is to keep that coil to the ground and figure out what works best for you with your machine Good Luck on future hunts!

Using a pretty cheap Bounty Hunter Tracker IV. I think the biggest piece of luck is that I've found sites that haven't been detected by anyone else!

Bushido--thanks! I'm trying to learn it well, and trying to be more patient and thorough.

Oh, I also found a 1972 nickel. Not worth anything but it's the first nickel from my birthyear! Today was serendipitous!

Welcome and hope you find a whole lot more. What kind of detector are you using ???

Congrats on the first silver!!!!!!!! Now you have been exposed to "the disease"...... you will find yourself waking up in the middle of the night with cold sweats. Visions of seated liberties and barber dime pouring out of the ground. Incredible urges to dig holes usually follow this. Your lucky you live in a warm climate as others including myself that can not detect only half the year due to weather have to suffer through much worse forms of this disease. The only remedy is looking on T-net at others finds and drooling alot.
