Hunted a ghost town site and found my first silver dollar, a 1878 Morgan. She's has scratches and scraps but to me she's beautiful. Was the only coin I found.

Welcome aboard, and like others have said, congrats!! I'd trade all the coins I've found so far for that one...

Well, 9 posts in the previous two years here, and what a way to come back in!

I've found plenty halves, but if I ever found a silver dollar I do believe I'd soil myself!

Congratulations :)

Congrats on a spectacular find. It don't get an bigger than that. GL&HH.

You just found someone's week pay back then! Great job!

What a beautiful Morgan dollar! Congratulations! When you think about it, and I do all the time, it makes sense that these are seldom found. When they were in circulation a dollar was a LOT of money. So if one was dropped you bet they would look for it long and hard. I find mostly dimes when hunting and it is logical. Kid has a small hole in his pocket and a dime falls through. Or one is dropped and is so small it's tough to find etc.

So although not rare it's a heck of a find!

That's awesome amazing that was the only good find to be had out of that place. I hunt a lot and have been fortunate to find 3 in 20 yrs. Big time rush seeing them come out of the ground

If you dig another one of those Mr. Coyote, I'll have to think about moving back to Kansas (Lawrence). Good job!!!

Great find, a silver dollar of any year is number 1 on my detecting wish list, really a gold coin is number 1, but I think the silver dollar would come up first, if I am lucky.

Good job on the Morgan! To hell with messing around with those lil' Merc ' s (jk) big silver is the way to go.
