Hi Everyone:
First, let me say that I am on cloud Nine
I went out today for a small hunt and did not expect to really find much. I had really set my heart on just finding some clad. I went to a local soccer field that dates back to 1950s and where I had found some jewelery, though not worth that much.
This time instead of hitting the field, I decided to hunt along the tree lines as there were alot of workers out marking in the field. True to my heart desire I am finding just some clad and I was getting ready to head on home and do some work. As I was walking back to where I left my coffee cup I got a strong signal registering silver on my detector. I dug down about two inches and sitting in the plug was this quarter that looked as if it had just be dropped that day back in 1964! I was sure that it was silver but could not wait till I got home to find out.
So, I called a friend of mine that I have met here SC_hunter and asked him! I was so happy when he told me yes, that quarter is Silver!!!!!
. SC_hunter was happy for me and encouraged me to keep on detecting till I found a merc dime, alas I had to get on home and take care of some chores.
I will post a picture in the future when my wife gets home. I just wanted to share the good news with everyone. Now that I have eliminated the silver coin from my list, I can focus on the Indian Head Penny/Buffalo Nickel/Mercury Dime...
May everyone have a great and wonderful day.
