First time MDing on the weekend - Lots of fun

What a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First I want to thank everyone for their input on choosing a detector. I bought the Tesoro Cibola. Heres all the weekends finds.

First I went to a field that looked like it had been used for something some time ago. You will notice the little ball thing. I got a good solid beep on that so I dug and dug and dug until finally at about 14 - 15 inches I pulled it out. I don't know about you guys but I thought that was really deep and made very impressed with my MD. I found around 30 objects but these were the good ones. The quarter had me excited. It was about 6 inches down. Just clad though!

Now I'm a little familiar with using the cibola so I went to a kids park around the corner from my house.

I don't know if this is gold or not. It looks like gold and is not magnetic. However theres no markings on it.

I had a great time!! To be honest I felt weird at the park because there were quit a few people around. But it became a lot of fun when the kids started talking to me, than the adults. But the coolest thing was when these punk rocker teens started talking and asking questions about the hobby. Everyone thought the MDing was kind of cool.

Looks like you had a great time for your first time. You did a lot better than I did on my first time. Great finds and great pics. Keep it up and keep us posted.

Man, you did GREAT on your first hunt! Now it's in your blood and a transfusion won't help. Hope yo see more post in the near future. WAY TO GO, and good hunting!

Congrats on the finds.

I remember when I first started I felt funny detecting around people but now it doesn't bother me. I give everyone in the park their space unless they approach me. A few weeks back I was detecting an urban park at lunch time and had three kids with me the entire time. I let them try it out and keep the coins they found but when the started grabbing my pinpointer and digger out of my pouch everytime I got a signal it was time for me to go back to work. One of the kids told me he had some money saved up and now he wanted a detector of his own.
