First Time Out Finds

I picked up a cheapy Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 this morning to play around with. I took it out into an old cornfield behind my house in Exeter, NH. This is what I found. An 1870's Navy Officers Sword Belt Plate, a bullet cartridge, a musket ball, another small metal ball, a 1967 quarter, a wheat pennie and another penny from 1977, my birth year

Needless to say, I'll be out more often, and will be checking that cornfield all weekend.

That belt plate is amazing.

The plate was about 4 inches down in mud, everything else was about 8 inches. This field has been plowed over and over for years, and I think it has caused everything to end up on the deeper side. Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I checked the field a few more times this weekend with no luck. They plowed it on Monday, so I may go out again and give it a try to see if anything was moved closer to the surface.

I don't want to be a pain in the derriere here....But I am having a really difficult time finding a one piece belt plate of this design with the enclosed belt loops.....Can you post the backside....something just isn't right about this ...but I will figure it out. Thanks for posting it.Nice find
