Due to overtime and the spring making my 6 acres of grass take off like a chia pet, I haven't been out. Today I took the family out to get some fresh air and relax a little after cutting up ice storm tree limbs all day. My littlest one likes me to dig the holes and she plucks out the finds by waving the dirt in front of the coil to hear if it beeps. I usually take her to look for clad, but today I thought I would see if she could find her first minie ball. It was almost dark, so we only had about an hour, plus she gets bored real fast.

Well, my 12x10 widescan is acting funny. It signals everytime I bump grass or swing too fast. Drove me nuts, but I kept at it and finally had a signal that sounded like it wasn't a flase one. Megan ran over and started yanking dirt out of the hole after I plucked out the worms, she don't like bugs. Finally the signal wasn't in there anymore.

She finds the little clod that had something in it and told me "I found a penny dad" and started to run off to throw sticks or something again. Well, I know better than to trust her 'coinage' so I had to take a look. Her penny looked awful shiney when I saw it in her hand.

I'll be dang if she wasn't trying to swindle me :)

My first seated quarter :)

Our total take for the day. We did find a .58, but the ring is what made her day. She knew what that was and it's a honker of a silver ring. It's just a bit big for her finger, it's a large mans ring.

falsing maybe from a coil cable swinging around
get it as tight and close to the shaft so it doesnt bounce around

great story - my little ones do the same thing when they go with me - don't like the worms and love to search for the coins

nice quarter too !

Thanks all. I was happy I had my luck charm with me to help find my first seated coin. I let her keep the ring, but I put the quarter up for safe keeping or it would turn into a gumball soon enough.

That's a dang purdy penny too! ;D You better take her along with ya every time, Grib!

Congrats on your awesome day out together!

Nana :)

Excellent seated and a great story to go with it. :)

I find my girls are more interested in digging than my boys....they'd rather be off swinging sticks somewhere. Whatever works!
