Well just found this sight and was inspired to do a little digging my self and have descent beginners luck thanks to all you out there. So check out the pics below. I do however need help determining if this Jim Thome baseball quarter. It's on a newer Philly quarter. It looks professionally put on maybe paint. Thome's head is right over washington's. Hopefully you guys can help me out. And also would like some help from the community on getting started in detecting and gaining permission and all that. Thnx

yeah that is some haul of silver, and you don't see buff's come out of the ground looking like that very often. Also, what is incredible is your rosie to merc ratio.... unbelievable finds! good luck out there!

Wow thats a pile of silver :icon_thumright:. Your doing just fine. Personally I love to find LCs, (Large Cents). Just wait til you dig your first largie. You won't forget it. I agree with oledavidboy, do the research, THANK the owner and please re-fill your holes. I use a yard rag to put all the dirt and rock on when I dig my holes, especially if you are in a public park, place, or yard. Then after finding the target just dump the dirt back in and flip your plug over. If you do it right it doesn't even look like you dug a hole.

Keep on digging.

Nice finds man!

Pull tabs, tin foil and a few pennies for me so far. (Only one hunt though)

You're kicking my a__.

You have the Midas touch! Keep it going. :)

I thought I had a good day.....you had a terrific week!
Goes to show you, what people are missing.
I have never seen a "treasure hunter" here where I live, so I feel my percentage of getting something nice is a lot higher. ;)

Good luck and keep up the good....hunting & finding!

Also, since I live in the country, it's hard finding the owners to parcels of large land. I have done a little research online and by asking my local court house, where I can find records and addresses to land owned where I am interested in MDing. There is usually a "Deed" database you can search as well. Much of the land out here is hunter's or farmer's properties and they don't live close by it, some not even in the state. I am able to obtain records from the court house on who owns what land and go from their on getting permission. If I see they live out of town, I try to locate their phone number or send them a letter. Many times I can get the address of the owners and pay them a cordial visit. I always like to have many peoples permission at once, before I go hunting. Get the permission out of the way first, then I can concentrate on the fun! There have been several times the owners suggested another piece of property or adjacent property and owner that might not mind me MDing as well.

that is very above average for a 1 week haul, grats to you, you must have hit some virgin ground. dont be discouraged if your next couple of hunts dont compair to that. the biggest obstacle people face for hunting is actualy asking land owners for permission. you never know unless you ask. the worse that can happen is you get a grumpy geezer who says no. fill all holes even if you didnt dig them and being polite always helps.

Nice Silver Finds... !! We would enjoy seeing all the cents found with these or did you find only silver ,, '

Nice Dig Keep it up.
