Fossil or artifact or rock?

They look like stream-tumbled rocks. I think some dinosaurs also used rocks to help digest their food (like some birds), so they might have been dinosaur rocks, too. Either way, they got that shape by bumping and rolling against each other and eroding themselves.

Farmers use to gather rocks shaped like that to put under laying hens to keep them on the nest. They would replace the real eggs with them
and the dim witted chickens would think they still had an egg to hatch. Monty

The photos are a little too blurry to really be sure, but it might be one of those dino rocks. They are called Gastroliths, or gizzard stones. Here is the link to the photos of them on Google... http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=gastroliths&btnG=Google+Search&sa=N&tab=wi
If it a gastrolith it will be really smooth and have a distinctive 'oily' feel to it. They are fairly common in my area, the wife has a whole pile of them in her flower garden out front.
