i got out with a few members of the club this afternoon to a park that Skierbob told me about last year. it had been a boy scout camp back in the woods roughly from the 40s up to the early 60s or so. finds can be scarce there, but if you really slow down and dig those iffy signals there is still good stuff to be found. the first thing i found was a 44 Washington Quarter and a 1917 Merc in the same hole. right after that i got a really deep signal and out pops this beautiful colonial shoe buckle! i wish i has a camera because the scan doesn't do it justice, its fully intact! if anyone (especially you Buckleboy!) knows anything about an approximate age on this buckle i sure would like to hear about it! after that i got a pretty good cluster of signals and out comes 5 nickels, a no date Buffalo, a 45 War Nickel, and three older Jefferson's. i think i dug a 44 wheat cent as well. then, a little later on i got another Mercury Dime! all in all it was a great day in the woods! Bob and the others also made some cool finds but i will let them post on their own. one other thing....be carefull of the damn deer ticks because i picked two off of me while i was hunting. ::) they are still active. anyway, thanks for looking!
