Found a marker tree

Trees do not grow the way most on here seem to think. Something carved into a tree does not get higher as the tree grows.

Plants achieve little growth through cell division - most growth comes from cell elongation. What does this mean? What was near the ground 100 years ago can be much higher depending on the type of tree. Happy hunting.

I sure wish you could get a clearer photograph and from a closer distance. More than likely they climbed from their horse upon those limbs and made the carving. I sure wish it was a clearer picture, I may be able to help you.
