Went out in my backyard today. Detecting the right side of the house between the house and the neighbor's chainlink fence there is about 3 feet. Got a couple Lincoln Memorials. Along the fence I got a strong beep. About 3 inches down I found this great pocket knife. Pretty good shape too. i did a little research. It is a Case ''dot knife". On the knife blade it says ' TESTED XX RAZOR EDGE'. On the tang? is 61048 SSP on the other side it says CASE XX under that is STAINLESS USA There are 10 dots. The older the knife- the more dots it has. Mine was made in 1970. 10 is the most dots.
If anyone has more info on this knife- let me know. How much is it worth? It is in really good shape. Not mint tho.
I also found a big gear thingy. I dug about 1 1/2 feet to get it. Well, that's another story.... OhioDeb

Well I used some baking soda to clean it up.

Great find Deb. :icon_thumleft:

Those are really great knifes, good enough to shave with.

It has a stainless blade - really new looking. Yes it is VERY sharp! OhioDeb

Great cleaning job on the knife Deb!

It's nice to find a vintage knife in that condition in the ground! :notworthy:

I had a case knife for 30+ years and used it and abused it. After all this time I sent it back to the factory for a minor repair and included a sentimental letter on how wonderful the knife was, and they did a complete refurbishing and the repair at no charge. I believe they have a lifetime guarantee....

That's a nice piece!
I love the horn (I believe) handles on Case Knives.
Years back I was in an old fashioned hardware store, they had a display of Case pocketknives on the counter, the owner noticed my interest and asked if I wanted to buy them all, How Much? 5 bucks apiece :laughing7:
I have been giving them as gifts ever since, saved my favorites.
Looking forward to seeing more finds!! What about this 'Gear thing' :icon_scratch:
