Fell in love with this purty girl i met today while walking the river bank of my hometown.i saw the top sticking out of the bank and at first thought it was a bone but when i poped it out i was thrilled!in good shape with a couple of chips here and there.i'am guessing by the bonnet on her head maybe from 1840-50s. :icon_farao:

Congrats on an awesome pipe bowl...I love finding the bowls. You maybe able to age the pipe by the bore hole in the pipe. If you have a set of drill bits just find the one that fits and that is the size of the bore.

I would say it is clay for sure and not bone....if you look at the top down view there is a seam that would not be on a bone pipe.

unless they had to do it out of two pieces of ivory or it cracked or they had to do that for the carving?

That is a beautiful pipe. :o :P
