I found this silver pocket knife in the ground the other day, it says sterling on the handle, next to that there is some other marks but don't know what they are has anyone out there ever found a knife like this or has one like it. I would like to know, the year is was made and maybe the value. the main blade is broke but still has the leather punch blade. thanks for any help.

the germans were well know for making silver handled (bolsters) knives -- the lil blade left would be great for cleaning dirt from under the nails after mding . --- the german also made silver handled straight razors too.

That would be a fruit knife.I have one like it that is all silver including the blades.Their purpose was that they wouldn't corrode and the pointed blade was for removing seeds.DBULL
