Found Gold Ring in fish's stomach

I metal detect also but yesterday I went fishing for Perch on a local lake. I only caught five nice perch in six hours. As I cleaned them I stuck my finger inside this one to pull out the cuts and felt something hard. When I sliced open the stomach there was this gold ring with 10 little diamonds. It's 14 Kt. yellow gold so I think the stones are real too. But who cares, I found another ring for the collection. I heard of this before but never from someone I knew and could believe. Now to wonder how the ring got there.

As a kid, when we didn't have bait, we would tie pull-taps to our hooks so they would "flutter" in the water, we would catch bass, specks and bluegills by the dozen! You finding a ring in one doesn't surprize me!

This was a find of a life time. But I lost the ring!!! This is the ring I found in the perch's stomach and my daughter in law liked it so I gave it to her. Easy come, easy go.

Sometimes those perch can be pretty vicious - are you sure you didn't miss the rest of the finger?

some years ago i heard a radio report about a fisherman who found a hand inside a shark...

I belive that the owner tossed it on purpose ,and the fish took it like a lure. There is a real good spot near here where rings get thrown in on a regular basis .Thankfully theres not many fish .REAL NICE FINDYou got there ,Felt as good giving it away as it did finding it I bet! Bob

just think too - if you had filleted it instead of gutting it, you'd likely have tossed it out without ever knowing about the ring!!

I know someone who killed a duck for his dinner and found 2 tiny gold nuggets in it's gut. But the fish story is incredible! Now why a fish would swallow a ring for food is beyond me! And a diamond one to boot!
