My opinion...
Not old...
less than 1 year old in water...
Stampings are of modern style.
Prolly Greek in nature... communion dish ?
Decorative clay dish.

I tend to agree with ARRC. Ancient plates didn't have concentric lines around the rim. It looks like Greek symbols just inside the rim. Ed, it's the right shape but that's where the similarity ends.

You know... it was more the designs for me...
they each have an outline and edge to outline that is crisp and too perfect.
Also... the sea life on it is new(er). If this had any age we would see no markings whatsoever due to covering of life...
UNLESS... twas buried in sand within days or weeks of it going down... AND...
Remaining there until recently...
Now... having said that...
If a major hurricane had just blown through... I would have looked three times instead of twice...
And still come to same conclusion ... heh :)

Also might add... I think this a stamped piece...
Designs were stamped into clay.
Prolly a flower pot something or another dealio bob.

I hope someone identifies this...
I am really curious still... to what exactly it is.

ARRC, I was viewing the photo on my phone. Now when I blow it up. I see the designs on the plate. I bow to your theory.

Don't be too quick to judge the pattern. It's not difficult to get the concentric circles like that if you know how.

See if this helps any, worked on the last pic to bring out more detail.

Looking more and more like a pizza.

Yeah, like something I'd make............... lots of times I can't remember where I started with a creation; every day is an adventure!

Looking more and more like a pizza.

Blueberry pizza...
hmmm...
Might actually be good.
Breakfast pizzas...
Bam we are in biz guys... who needs treasure.

Oh wait... it also looks like a petri dish mold sample gone bad... over done.

So far, only thing I've found with a design, that even comes close is.....African, this bowl originates in Zambia.

They want at least AU $290 for it.

There was something about that stringy line going up the side of bowl, a couple others from Zambia had a single flower in the center of bottom. Compared together one has a lot of color, maybe the design on the other is mostly worn off? I'll probably keep looking, nothing else like it yet.
