found my first piece of gold. A modern cufflink, 9ct, but still. Pretty cool I found it. Trying to see if anyone in the area lost it. So far no one has claimed it.

I have been detecting for quite a few years, found gold nuggets, but never gold jewelry.

its an early 1900s dumb bell style cufflink. not sure if it ties into the edwardian era or not.

I’m sure you have, but treat that as a clue and spend a bunch of your free time enjoying the fall weather swinging that area while imagining what could have gone on there 100 years ago.

Not every hill billy farmer wore cuff links, much less gold cuff links.
