Found on and old farm

Dug this thing up almost 10 inches deep. I have no clue as to what it is.

I think it is probably off a car or maybe a tractor. The inside of the hole is square.

might be part of windmill pump . The center rod going down from the top of the windmill to the pump used to be a wooden rod that attached to a spare metal shaft that went to the pump head

It's on the rear axel of most cars. Check your own you'll see it.

It looks like the top of an old Fire Plug . The new ones screw on. Or maybe the top of a water value.

Went back and detected again and found enough other parts to lead me to believe it is from an OLD well pump. That is just what we have found at the location so that is what I think it is.
