Well I went out on a hunt tonight and after three hours I think I found one! Type and stuff, I have no idea. I'm so excited! Let me know what ya'll think.

Yep it's really my first find! Right when I gave up I looked down and noticed it was a different color than the rest of the rocks, and I'm glad I noticed! The people on here who have been giving me advice definitely kept my interest in arrowheads, and they were a huge help! The place I found it, however, was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing, but I'm it paid off!

Thanks! I looked on www.projectilepoints.net to see if I could match it with anything, but Madison was the only similar one I could find. I never thought of a knife. Thanks you!

Marie!! remember how that little flash of color looked that is the key to finding artifacts! learn to see the colors of material where you are looking, then will come seeing the tipe of a point,the flaked side of a point, knife, or scrapper you are on your way young laidy.. great first artifact!! Haha well I carried it with me all day yesterday after I found it! I have it sitting on my desk right next to me, so most of my day has been spent checking it out. It's amazing!

Congrats on the great first find. Your doing better than I did it took me quite a bit longer to find my first point. Its a great feeling to look down and find that first point. It is my most memorable find to date. I could still go to the exact place where I found it. HH

Way to go. I look everytime we go hiking in Giant City and have never found one, ya got me beat. Now you will start finding more as you learn. It took me almost two months of getting skunked before I finally started to get it right.
