Did I score getting this for $18?
And what do you people estimate these are worth?
Give me your opinions.

I THINK YOU DID OK

The mercs and the quarter put you close to your $18 mark as far as value. All the other coins are bonus.

1924D merc - $4
1939D merc - $4
1961 quarter - $7

I cant tell by the pictures on my phone what the other coins are, but I'd say you did alright.

Unfound - Tell me where or who will give you $4 for a merc and $7 for a silver quarter. Thanks!

The official red book of coins 2015. For those dates that's what they have as price.

Yeah, I hear ya - the official red book, but try and get those prices from anyone is a different story. I haven't found anyone willing to give over $1.50 for a Merc and $3.50 for a silver quarter. Let me know if you ever find someone who will actually pay those higher prices. Thanks.

I understand the prices in the red book don't reflect what one could actually get for a coin. But hey, it's the official red book - The OP asked what someone estimated these are worth - I grabbed the "unofficial coin bible" for reference. I guess I could have easily said "look them up on an online auction site and see what they are actually selling for".

Like anything else (cars, stocks, real estate, etc.) coins are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. I would say this lot of coins is worth $18.
