Went out digging at a Colonial site with Metal Detecting SC on a rainy Friday day, 2-12-21. It rain all weekend long then I went digging the next Monday at a soaked field,. 2-15-21..

The piece I thought was a flintlock, that is not what it is. I don't know what it could be, if anyone have any ides please comment down below?

Good stuff. I was thinking since its heavy metal, maybe either part of a boot scraper or end to a fireplace andiron. It resembles an animal to me.
