.... Model .45 Sorry guys, I couldn't resist :laughing7: Going shooting tomorrow. .45 002.webp.45 003.webp

Gotta place where I've been doing autobody work part time at a shop that's out in the country. Taking my chrono out there and test some reloads tomorrow.

Kimber? Good taste! Made not too far from me. What are ya feeding that bad boy?

Yep, Def a Kimber. Very nice trigger, and super accurate. It really loves to be fed anything 230gr. Tried feeding it 185gr. Remington Golden Sabers, but they shot high and right. It cycled them fine, maybe it was just me.

I'm a SIG man myself, but some of those Kimber's sure are pretty.

Not sure where you're at, but you might want to check out Frontline Defense in Warrenton. It's an outdoor range opent to the public on the weekends. A real nice place.

I'm in Cherry Point/ New Bern area. Got a decent outdoor range here, but I don't want to drag my chronograph out there. Taking my Kimber and my Sig out as soon as it stops raining .45 001.webp

Lighter bullets will always group higher if your gun is sighted in using heavier bullets.

That Kimber is spot on similar to mine. If I didn't know better I would say that was mine! (had to go check it was still there) :laughing7:

Awesome fun and beautiful...enjoy!

Thanks, I've had her awhile. I'm guessing since the late '90s. Had the Sig even longer. Can't remember when I got her, but it has made in West Germany stamped on it, so I'm guessing maybe the '80s? Anyways, can't take them out today like I planned, just to wet.

Gotta love the classics.

Hey mr.b,are parts to your kimber .45 interchangeable with colt 1911 parts?

Red, I'm not a 100% sure, but I think so. It does however have a full length guide rod.45 003.webp

Maybe you could do some autobody work on some take-off unuseable parts with the pistol before they go the Recyclers!:laughing7: Nice Kimber by the way! I have a Smith & Wesson M&P Pro in .40 S&W and a Smith & Wesson M&P LE in .45 ACP. Both have Matchgrade barrels and internals.

Ok thanks,Ive been thinking of getting a gov model 1911,but the kimber looks nice too.it would be nice if colt parts were interchangeable.

Just an update in case you are interested, Finally got out today to do a little shooting. The results with the chronograph are... Store bought Rem. 230gr. Fmj. average vel. 826 ft. per sec. My reloads using 230gr. Fmj and mixed brass are 821 ft. per sec. Not to shabby! Might bump my powder charge up 1 or 2 grs. Here's a pic of the dirty nose of my 1911 dirty nose 001.webp

Nice 1911! It looks brand new from the factory!!!

Thanks bro. I've had this one awhile. I very seldom take her out. But man, she is a sweet shooter!
