here are a few frames of some mostly bone gaming pieces
after them is some images of a bone which was in the process of being made into game pieces
these would have been the rectangular type with the 'X' on it

do you think the one at 12:00 is the sun?
and maybe the one at 1:00 is a badger, turtle, or possibly a bug?
it is hard to tell

Those are interesting, not sure about the one at 12:00 but the one at 1:00 the marks do look like leg's.

Yep I do think it is a sun....The one at 1 I still say looks like an hour glass,BlackWidow?

Yep. I agree with Neo.
Awesome pieces from an awesome friend!
Thanks Steve. Your collection is one of the best I've ever seen.

that makes a lot of sense about that symbol
you might be right about the "double 'M' symbol"
thanks witko

Lars!! first photo upper and lower left corners and upper right corner is that hole in the center of these pices with the x or hourglass marks drilled all the way through, and is that not the same
mark with tally marks that is on the horse or bird effigy with the eye drilled all the way though. that is in favorite things post. Terry

thanks terry
yup the holes are drilled all the way through on those pieces
and ya that mark on the chin of that crane effigy tool is the same kind of 'X'
i think out of the five or six bird heads i have seen or found i think every one had that 'X' on its chin
i wish i knew if the X had a meaning
steve

Lars!! i think that every mark they put on there tools and game pices had a meaning to them we just have no way to know what. Terry
