Garretts GTI 2500 or Whites DFX????

Re: Garrett's GTI 2500 or Whites DFX????

GTI2500 hands down!!
Beats a DFX with no problem in all areas!!

With a little work can be HIP MOUNTED as I did mine, good choice of coils other then the sniper coil is Non Imaging.

Very accurate on coin ID and lock on.

Easy to use, many adjustments if needed..

Factory Programs work super, so It is a turn on and go for sure.

Great depth!!

Sorry to say man but I don't agree.
There are more non imaging coils the the 4.5".
I can't say much for coin ID as I'm in Sweden, not same conditions I bet.
Easy to use agreed. But many adjustments? no not one the one I had...
Factory programs are ok, even for most of my coins here in Sweden.
Depth is ok to.
With your claims, have you tried both?

Re: Garrett's GTI 2500 or Whites DFX????

Keep this thread going! If I ever make enough good finds, these are the two machines I will be choosing from! So keep up the discussion! Maybe add a little poll!

Re: Garrett's GTI 2500 or Whites DFX????

No mention of the Minelab SE? Just wondering why you did not include it in your choices? Deep hitter for sure, Beale.

Not sure why I didn't include this one in the group I am drooling over for future possibilities. Looks like a powerful machine, but also doesn't look very intuitive. Looking at the machine it looks well balanced, but the display looks very confusing. Maybe it isn't, but it sure looks that way to me! I am a long way off before I buy a new machine. I will keep this one in mind as well.

Yes, I own both however am selling DFX to my Son in law as he likes it, as its easy to hip mount. I also own a SE, Fisher ID Edge, Tesoro Tiger Shark, Toltec II, white XLT, White BH, Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II, and a couple others.

GTI2500 VS White DFX for MY area beats it hands down. And yes there are more then just the 4.5" sniper coil for the GTI's I was just trying to state there are no imaging/Sizing coils for the GTI under 9.5".

As for adjustments
GB, Tones, Notches, Freq., Talk, battery types, surface elem., and a few others. As for price and what it can do compared to others in the same range a great buy, also it might be in a ABS style Plastic BOX it handles rough treatment better then any white unit.

What it lacks is the fact it is heavy like a white DFX,XLT and not hip mountable other then the battery pack, which I feel is just a pain as you don't miss the weight. My GTI is Hip Mountable and smooth to use as such.

This is not putting down the White Machine, for me my GTI 2500 can out do it, for some one else the table could switch. CHEV vs FORD thing.

Good Hunting!!

Hi Gary.
For your area yes but the first post you made in this topic you stated:

Sudden change of mind huh?

Lets go for the adjustments:
Sure it has a couple but in comparison to the DFX it lacks adjustments.(DFX has more)
Oh yes you don't need many for a good MD sure, it all comes down to the operators preference.

Where I buy it form it is in the same price range as; The Explorer Se, White's DFX and the GTI2500 all in the same price range.

about the weight I don't think it's to bad I only had problems with it my first time out (about 2 or 3 hours)

Sorry about that Eu_citzen "Sudden change of mind huh" reckon I did not explain my self too well. No change of mind I meant for the states I have used it in. My area at this time is Ohio, have used them both in W.Va, Tenn., Ind., Penn., Kentucky, and Arz. have never tried one out of the USA.

As you state user's choice and many their be fer sure.

Good Hunting!!
