Boy.....aside from being to small for a gatling.....it does look like a cylinder for a gun of some sort. Not a cylinder part that I've ever seen, but others may recognize it. Will be interesting to here what the experts here say. Pics came out good that time.

Looks like a wheel off the face of a meat grinder.

Also looks like the handle of an outside water faucet.

Ejector face plate from an old revolver cylinder ?

looks like the impeller from a small centrifugal pump.

It has those 6 ratching lugs. Gatling guns were driven by worm gears.

I thought water faucet at first too but, why would it have the ratchet deals on the outside and iron would be an odd choice

And it seems huge for a water faucet shut off. Diameter of a sharpie marker.

Does not seem firearm related to me either.
The ratchet type ears also hint at something else.
A seed plate or classifying device maybe. Flour sifter or.....??

I believe it is a planter plate from an old one row corn planter.

The way the teeth are shaped and all in the same direction reminds me of the gears found on a winch/come along. With the one side being flat, that was designed to be flush with something else. Where was it found (ex. a farm field) and was anything found nearby?
