Just been given another field to play in :hello2: Farmer said he's got more by the river for me as soon as the harvest is cut!
Got half of it done - Rain, Thunder and Lightening brought my day to a close though:

Yeap, Fob watch winder

I like the Isle of Man copper, I remember one other being posted a while back, but do not remember which forum, it could have even been a European forum I visit once in a while.......

Here is another description of one from a website

Isle of Man, James Stanley, 10th Earl of Derby, Proof Penny, 1733, struck in bath metal, eagle with infant in basket on cap, some frosting on cap band, date below, SANS . CHANGER above, rev. triune, value between legs, QVOCUNQVE GESSERIS STABIT pellet stops, toothed border both sides, edge, plain striated

Roman would be nice, would it have become more 'white' in colour though if it was that old. Some of the old lead pipes and other bits of lead I've dug are almost completely white with the oxide that covers them - this is still pretty grey.

..Could it be 1733?? Never seen this coin before, very good find..

It could be 1733 but sadly its never going to give us its true age - just got the magnifying glass out and those last 2 digits are impossible to make out -
The Legs are nice, the Eagle and Cradle too but everything else :(
Here's hoping there may be a better one in the half I haven't gone over yet.

Thanks for all the help guys

It all depends David on the ground conditions, I have had many lead items, from Roman to Medieval, all different amounts of oxidation, here's one I found similar to yours

Interesting finds! I agree that old lead has a white oxide patina but for some reason due to soils, it is not always true. That coin with the legs is kickin. HH, Mike

Watch Key Bro. Nice.

Great stuff there David. Your Avatar reminds me of Rob Halford of Judas Priest! I suppose since you dig choice items of metal, you must be a metal head. Nice finds buddy. Best wishes jgas

Amazing finds there.

I love the design on the Isle of Man copper! GREAT coin find!

The buttons are top notch as well--and shaun is right on with his ID of the pocket watch winding "key."
