Germany Finds: LAST HUNT Good Bye TN, I must go away

Well, the time has come. I will be leaving for 15 months in Iraq in the next couple of days. My first one and a half years of MD has been great. I will not take my detector with me to Iraq, I'm sure you can guess why.

The pictured photos are from my last 3 weeks of searching on post. Got some nice older coins and buttons. I will miss the hobby and I can't wait to get back already. I did have a 3 gold ring day. Also found a seal C-Ration can of Peanut Butter.

P.S. If you or your community/group/association or family would like to support the deployed troops from my unit with care packages or any other support please PM me. You can send stuff to any soldier, unit or section. In one month we will be established in Iraq and I will send any interested party our unit addresses.

I want to thank everyone for the kind words. Even though we are all strangers I feels incredibly lucky to know all of you. I'm backing my final bags and trying to stretch every minute left with the family. The unit that I'm leaving with are hunter of the most dangerous prey. They have the job of finding IEDs that are hidden through out Iraq.

when in the uk i was doing a local park,and a man approached me ,he was interested in the coil i was using,we got talking,turns out he was iranian and detects there,said he found a hoard of silver coins from the time of king darius,around 700bc? and his freind had found an ancient tomb,so gets ur thinking

Germany is an anolomy, where there should be good Celtic and Roman, or Medieval, you find Zilch. Where you don´t expect any, you find some !!

Have a SAFE Trip my friend! I always loved your "Germany finds" posts, they were one of the series' that I loved tuning into the most.
